It was a great week for Highlander Athletics and the Mercy Health poll is full of Oak Hills nominees! Please VOTE for our Highlander team and athletes until 4p on Friday!

Top Ohio Spring Girls' Team of the Week

Oak Hills softball – The girls improved its record to 5-1 and is leading the GMC after a conference win over Lakota West 1-0 – the Highlanders’ first win against Lakota West since 2017. Avery Gottleib’s 2-hit shutout pitching performance, Lilyanna Hayes’ game saving catch, and Maeve Fink’s 2 hits and game-winning RBI put the Highlanders on top.

Top Ohio Big School Baseball Player of the Week

Jonah Broxterman, Oak Hills – The junior went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI in Oak Hills’ 11-1 win over Princeton April 14.

Top Ohio Big School Softball Player of the Week

Lilyanna Hayes, Oak Hills - The senior’s diving, game-saving catch got Oak Hills the shutout over Lakota West (1-0) to stay undefeated in conference play and take the lead in the GMC.

Top Ohio Singles Player of the Week

Tomasso Strocchi, Oak Hills – He got wins at first singles over Seven Hills B April 11 and a win over his Princeton opponent April 14.

Top Doubles Tennis Team of the Week

Daniel Miller- Michael McClurg, Oak Hills – The first doubles team got a win April 14 against their Princeton opponent. They also beat their Harrison opponent April 13, 6-0 and 6-1.

Top Ohio Boys' Big School Track & Field Athlete of the Week

Robert Hart, Oak Hills – He won the high jump and long jump at the Greg Zuleger Harrison Invitational April 15.
