Boys XC Runs to 2nd

Talawanda

After a long summer of training, the guys finally got to see the fruits of their labors in the first race of the season. The coaches were very pleased to how everyone stepped up and showed how tough they are. Even some of the guys who had been struggling for the past couple weeks didn't back down. The coaches made predictions on what our new guys might run, and each of them impressed us with their performances. Almost all of our returners ran faster on Saturday than they did on this course last season, which is a great way to start the year.

Athletes of the Week

Varsity: Alex Schmidt- Alex has never been on varsity before and he was our 5th runner on Saturday. He is one of the only guys to run a lifetime in the first meet, and did so by a huge margin of 34 seconds. This was not a surprise based on his summer training and we a glad to have him as a member of the varsity squad now.

JV: AJ Werner- AJ spent most of the summer out of town and was considerably behind in his conditioning when he joined us. Usually, it can take most of a season to make up that gap, but AJ has charged far ahead of where he started already. As coaches, we have no idea what he is capable of yet, so we are very excited to see him progress!

Lebanon This Weekend

The bus for Lebanon is an early one. Please be at the school by 5:30am for logistics. The bus will leave at 5:45. Please see the attached sheet for competition details. Lebanon has changed the boys open race from 9:20 to 10:00am.
